Cat's Ceramics

I am a ceramic artist living in Sussex, England and I make decorative and functional ceramics by hand using handbuilding techniques of coiling, pinching, slabbing and hand modelling. I don't really like using fancy equipment or moulds as I want each piece to be unique and individual as much as it can be. To me ceramics and clay work has a special kind of intimacy unlike other creative forms and I believe you can feel the effort some one has taken to make a piece when you pick it up and touch it. It is like that energy has seeped into the very pores of the clay and has some how been captured within the firing process forever to stay within that piece
